Sydney Harbour Awards 2010

Last night the Goannas attended the Greater Sydney Juniors AFL Sydney Harbour Divisional Awards ceremony at Riverview.

The Goannas would like to congratulate all players who received awards on the night.

I am very excited to announce that The HP Goannas have won the Best Norwest Club at the Awards. I would like to thank Martin Scicluna who accepted the award on behalf of the club.

This is a fantastic achievement for the club, to achieve Bronze accreditation and to be recognised in only its first year of rebuilding after a difficult 2009.

This award is down to all of the hard work by the committee, coaches, managers, parents and our loyal band of volunteers each week who give our players such a great Sunday. A sincere thanks to everyone who helped the club win this award.

Well done to our Junior AFL players who received their Outstanding Achievement awards:

• U9 - Anthony Berbari
• U10 - Adam Scicluna
• U12 - Grant Clarke

The Youth players awards are voted upon by umpires at each game. The umpires jointly award 3, 2 and 1 points to their Best and Fairest players on the field each week. At the end of the season the points are tallied and awards given to the top performers in each grade. Last night our award recipient was:

• U14 Best and Fairest - Angad Roy (1st place)

Congratulations to all of our boys who received awards - both junior and youth. A special congratulations to Angad for this massive achievement.
