At the Holroyd Parramatta Goannas Junior AFL Club it is not all about winning. The Club's Mission, which is well aligned to the AFL’s agenda, is to allow everyone the opportunity to get active, be part of a family based community team, practice mateship and good sportsmanship whatever their ability level, race, gender, family composition, income level or cultural background.

At the Junior Club we have THREE levels of player participation Auskick, Junior and Youth.

Kids aged 4 to 10 can come and have fun, meet new friends and learn AFL in a safe environment with no contact, no grading and equal participation to ensure maximum enjoyment. Once you reach Under 12's you can then start to integrate slowly into the traditional AFL rules with more competition, contact and tackling.

Our club will start pre-season training early in December. New team players can come and try the skills to see if AFL will suit them before registering. General training starting early February.

- AusKick program, sponsored by NAB, is the AFL's entry level program to teach skills for children from 4 up to 8 years old.

- Junior teams for children from ages 9-12 playing in the Greater Sydney Juniors competition using the Modified Rules. Click here to see the AFL Greater Sydney Juniors Modified Rules

- Youth teams for boys aged 13-16 playing in the Greater Sydney Juniors competition transitioning into full AFL rules.

For registration in 2012 age group is determined by calendar year. i.e. if a child turns 12 anytime during 2012 then they will be in the Under 12s.

The Goannas is especially keen to assist our schools in (AFL) sporting opportunities like intra-school AusKick and inter-school competition like PSSA and Paul Kelly Cup. Our club coaches and umpires often lend a hand at their school too. If your school does not have an AFL sporting scheme please contact us to help them initiate one.

Registration - Included items and costs:

• Club guernsey to wear during matches. To be returned at the end of the season.
• Insurance costs and presentation day trophy and activities.
• Auskick players receive the official NAB AFL AusKick pack.
• New players receive Goannas socks and shorts (optional for Auskickers).
• Playing equipment, lighting and associated running costs.

Player registration costs for 2012 are Auskick $60 for 12 weeks of skills and games including a Back Pack (optional Goannas Shorts and socks can be purchased for $30), New Junior and Youth Players $150.00. Returning Junior and Youth Players $130.00.

1. Click here to access the registration form.
- Print it and fill it out then give it to a committee member, email it or post it to us.
- Supply a copy of your child's Birth Certificate if they are a new player.
- Please sign your agreement to participate with the Club and abide by the Code of Conduct.
2. Making payment. You can pay by Direct Bank Deposit or by cheque.

3. Mail the signed registration form, copy of the birth certificate and print out of bank transfer receipt or payment (if paying by cheque) to :

Registration never actually closes, but we do need to be organised with team numbers and gear, so we do ask for your returned registration forms prior to March if possible. Your assistance with early and complete registration will be greatly appreciated.

While registrations are taken in early Jan-Feb, our Home & Away season normally commences in late March and finishes off with Grand Finals in early September.

Volunteering and Parent Involvement

We encourage all parents to help out and volunteer with any of the following tasks:

- Coaching or managing a team.
- Being a ground manager, goal umpire, scribe, runner or boundary umpire.
- Do canteen shifts occasionally, helping organise the annual Social Night.
- Join one of the sub-committees for Social / Fundraising, Football Operations, Canteen, Umpiring etc.
- Joining the Committee to assist administration of the club.
